The Eighth Grade
Eighth grade students in Franklin County who are not enrolled in New Tech @ Gereau spend one semester at The Gereau Center (TGC) and one semester at Benjamin Franklin Middle School (BFMS).  The eighth grade is divided into two halves - Eagles and Franklins.  Eagles attend TGC during the fall semester and BFMS during the spring semester.  Franklins attend BFMS during the fall semester and TGC during the spring semester.

During their semester at BFMS, students are enrolled in English, Math, Civics, and one elective (PE, band, or choir).  While at TGC, students are enrolled in English, Math, Science, and their choice of two nine-week career modules, Spanish I, band, or choir.  Band and choir are held at BFMS, so TGC students who choose to take these courses during their semester at TGC will be transported to BFMS for their last class of the day.

All eighth grade students are eligible to participate in the clubs, groups, and athletic programs based at BFMS and will be transported to BFMS at the end of the day for those activities with permission from a parent or guardian.
